This sometimes steep tour takes you through all the districts of Voeren and to the picturesque country of Herve. Ideal for testing your electric bike.
1. Appointment to the St.-Lambertuskerk (1786) of 's Gravenvoeren. Pass the war memorial and turn left at the intersection (Kinkenberg). You are entitled to Gasthof Blanckthys. Cross the Voer, take the left turn, then turn right (Kinkenbergenpad) and always stay right. You enter the Koetswegstraat where you have to enter the first street on the right: the Gijberg. At the end of it, turn left, then the first right, the Molenstraat, which takes you back to the main road. Turn left onto Dr. J Goffinstraat / Schietekamer. Now always continue to drive straight, even if the name of the street changes several times, until the H.-Hartbeeld in Sint-Martens-Voeren. Leave the Dorpstraat on the right, pedal under the railway bridge and continue straight through the rising Knap to Sint-Pieters-Voeren. Continue to follow the road until you reach the junction with the Sainte-Anne chapel (1730). Follow the Dorpsstraat on the right and pass St. Peter's Church (1660). On the right you have a beautiful view of the commandery of the Teutonic Order (early 17th century, Maasland Renaissance). Continue to follow the ascending road to the end.
2. Now follow the N608 on the left, direction Aubel. On the left the castle Magis (end of the 19th century). After 200 m, take the first road on the right and go down towards Aubel. Take the first right, rue du Vieux Tilleul. At the end, turn left. A hundred meters further, you turn left with the road. Continue cycling to a main road. Turn right and follow the Val Dieu road. The tavern is closed on Tuesdays. You can go to the mill tavern across the street for a nice cold beer. Pass the village of St-Jean-Sart and continue following the road to the Cistercian abbey Val Dieu. The old complex remains mainly buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. The monumental church is mainly from the 19th century. Inside, the stalls of the Renaissance choir stand out.
3. Cross the Berwinne, cross the N650 and take the road to Charneux on the other side. You immediately start a steep climb. Ignore a road on the right, pedal until you reach another street and follow it on the left, direction Aubel. After 200 m, take the road to Charneux on the right. On the left on a hill is the 15 m high cross of the Bois del Fiesse. Continue on the hilly road towards Charneux. Then turn right onto La Haisse, direction Mortier.
4. At the junction with the statue of Mary, keep right and follow the direction La Fontaine. Cycle along a hilly road and enjoy the panorama. On the T, turn right, direction Fosselette. Then take the first left, direction Bougnoux. On the corner is a rusty crucifix. You pass some farms and reach the N627. Cross it and follow the direction Mortier. Don't worry about the back roads and enjoy the beautiful views. Just after the 'Mortier' sign, the road splits. Keep left and pedal towards the church. Now take the second street on the right, rue Cours Burdo, direction Blégny. Cross the intersection with the stone cross and follow Trix du Vieux Mayeur. Ignore all side streets and pedal further along Rue des Eglantines to another road. Left. Pass the sign 'Chenestre' and continue to follow the road straight. Cross the Berwinne and turn left onto the T. After the 'Dalhem' sign you come to a main road. Follow it to the right. Don't worry about secondary roads and get out of Dalhem.
5. You pass the Lawrence Cross, then head straight to the Chapel of the Tomb (1645) in Bombaye. Keep the chapel on your left and continue cycling to the N627. Cross it and take the first street on the right, direction Warsage. On the left you see the church of Bombaye. Take the first left and follow on the right, the path of Andelaine to Warsage. You arrive on a main road, follow it to the right and then turn left, rue des Combatants. At the end, turn left. The road divides immediately and you follow on the left, direction Fouron-le-Comte, alias Gravenvoeren.
