Appointment at junction 5 of the Meetjesland cycle junction network on the square at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw Geboortekerk in Bellem (V), borough of Aalter. With bicycle-friendly brasserie 't Pleintje on your right, you start towards junction 85. After the Taborschool and restaurant de Duyventooren, turn right at junction 85, direction Ursel and Zomergem, until junction 83. Continue straight ahead, direction 73. Cross the bridge over the Ghent-Bruges canal and cycle through a meadow landscape with some impressive farms. At junction 73, turn left, towards 84, through an open agricultural landscape with fields, meadows and pollard willows. At junction 84 you are just on the territory of Ursel. Turn right and you will immediately arrive at junction 88. Turn left and follow Heirstraat, direction 89. Through an open landscape with scattered farms you come to the Middelweg and junction 89. Cross this road carefully and continue cycling towards 82 and the Pietendriesmolen 1, which you can already see further on. If you want to see the mill up close, you can cycle into the Pietendries. This tour continues through the quiet landscape with some beautiful farms to the busy N461. Cross carefully and continue cycling towards 82 and the Drongengoedhoeve.

To the historic Drongengoedhoeve At junction 82 straight ahead, still towards Drongengoedhoeve and point 75. Past riding school Westvoordehof and a bend you come to junction 75. Continue straight ahead, direction 68. On an information board under an awning you can read more about the domain forest Drongengoed. In the former forester's house you can go for a drink and in good weather on the terrace in a unique historical setting. You leave the yard via the impressive eastern entrance gate and then cycle further left, towards 68, on a narrow dolomite cycle path. At the end of this path you turn onto a cobblestone road, to the Jagershof. Cycle past this restaurant to junction 68 at restaurant 't Moorken. Turn right, direction 64, always through a quiet agricultural landscape and past tavern grill Elckerlyc. Junctions 64 and 67 are actually at the same intersection. Choose direction 65 and follow Zwepe until the N499. Cross carefully and cycle from junction 65 through the Vlamingstraat to junction 53. Turn left and follow Diepenbeek, direction 59. Ignore a road on the left and continue cycling on a road only for cyclists and riders. Past a farm with a tall orchard, the road becomes unpaved. After the next farm you cycle over a cobblestone strip, then again on a dirt road. At the end of Diepenbeek, on the T, turn right (left Oostwinkel, right Ronsele), along a somewhat busier road, over a cycle path separated by bushes. After a few hundred meters, take the Hoekstraat on the left, until you reach junction 59.

Along 't Liefken

Straight ahead, cross the Stoktevijver bridge over the Schipdonk canal. Ignore a road on the right, cross the Liefkensbrug and follow the Lievekanaal to the right. You can now enjoy more than 9 km along the car-free path along the narrow Liefken or Lieve or Lievekanaal. In Beke you cross a road at junction 9 and continue cycling on a red cycle path, towards 13. At the bottom of the bridge, at junction 53, continue straight ahead. 200 m further, at a small roundabout, you come to junction 54. Turn right into Kasteellaan, direction 55. You can reach this at a five-step jump with the Sint-Annakapel 3 from 1648 in the middle and a beech drive to the castle of Vinderhoute. Quiet area on the Kale Now follow Molenslag diagonally to the right, direction 64, past the Van Vlaenderensmolen 4 with the motto: 'Heaven gives, whoever catches it has'. Then you cross the Oude Kale and cycle over the Molendam through a beautiful pollard willow landscape. This is not only an exceptional quiet area, but also a protected landscape. Along some picturesque farms and winding further through the beautiful landscape. In the street Ganzevijver there is no signage, but you have to turn right until junction 64. Turn left here, direction 25. Take Lobrug immediately to the right, but do not cycle on the Ghent-Bruges canal! Descend the bridge to the Brugse Vaart and follow it to the left until junction 2. Turn left, direction Hansbeke. After 300 m you reach junction 84. Continue cycling straight ahead, direction 89, and turn right further on, towards Bellem. Another 3 km, past a mix of old and restored farmhouses and the castle of Hansbeke. Past restaurant De Bestemming and the white chapel of Our Lady. van Nood seeks Comfort from 1767, built against a white house. At junction 12 continue straight towards 5, on a narrow cycle path to the left of the roadway. You will pass the impressive castle farm in U-shape that belongs to castle Mariahove 5 next to it. Where the cycle path ends, you are back at your starting point.
