Appointment at the church of Weerde (V). With the church on the right you cycle to the traffic light, also junction 75. Cross the road, direction 10. Turn right onto the tile path and cycle next to the cemetery to an asphalt road. Follow it to the left. The asphalt turns into concrete and you cycle between the fields and under two railway bridges and then follow the Heidestraat to the right. At the end you cross the Brusselsesteenweg and follow it a few meters to the left, towards the church of Zemst. Immediately after crossing the Senne, turn right and follow the river downstream. The banks here are reinforced with concrete slabs. On the left behind the fields the church of Zemst and on the right, on the other bank, the chapel of Our Lady. in the Hammeke 1 . You arrive at the Eglegem pond. Cycle along the pond until you can go down the dike. You are now at junction 10 and choose direction 45. Return to the beginning of the pond below the dike and then follow the south bank to the right. A little further on, turn left between the posts onto a gravel path. There is a road from the left and you cycle through the Konijnenstraat. On the right is the castle of Relegem 2. You get on a wider road. Cross it and cycle into the Kleine Molenweg, through an open agricultural landscape with beautiful views to junction 45. Now choose direction 25 and follow the Wormelaarstraat to the right. At the fork, keep right, direction 25. You cycle through the Grote Parijsstraat, on a comfortable asphalt road. At the fork, keep left and follow Halvesteenstraat. On the left, behind the meadows, you can see the church of ZemstLaar.
At a crossroads with a chapel and the Halve Steen 3 go straight into the Vennestraat. Past a demolition company and a brick chapel, you continue to follow the Vennestraat diagonally left at the fork. You cycle over a speed bump, in the middle of the fields! After a bend you cycle past the nameplate of Hombeek. Where the Acht van Zemst turns left, you turn right into the Boomkensstraat. At the first opportunity turn left into the Rechtestraat, with a chapel in natural stone on the corner. The Rechtestraat, with plane trees on both sides, has not stolen its name. At the end of the drive, turn left before expoel 4 castle, on a cycle path separated by bushes. From junction 25 to 28 At junction 25 you have to pay attention. The route next to the railway has been in design for years, but does not yet exist. According to the cycling map, a diversion is provided. In reality, you can only go from junction 25 to junction 53, if you follow the signage. Forget about it and follow direction 53 from junction 25. You cycle under the railway bridge and there it goes right for 53. Don't do that, but keep following the railway, without caring about side roads. At the name sign of Kapelle-op-den Bos you cross the road to follow the cycle path next to the railway line (Hombeekseweg). After a while there are signs towards junction 28. Cross the Brussels-Rupel canal and cycle straight from junction 28 to junction 27. Now choose node 36. Cycle under the railway and follow the Oudstrijdersstraat until you can turn right into Hogerheistraat. Cross the Nieuwenrodestraat and follow the Boondreef (local traffic). At the end, follow the Neromweg on a separate tile path to the right. Just past The New Bistro you turn right into a very narrow asphalt path, up to a narrow concrete road. Follow it to the left. Cross a street and cycle into a cul-de-sac. At house no. 2 you take the gravel road, diagonally right, between meadows, fields and forests. You come back to civilization. You cycle through Papenboskant and ignore De Biest on the left. The road is made car-free by a concrete block. Neromhof and Gravenkasteel Continue on a narrow path along the castle wall of the Neromhof and through a grove until you reach the busy A12 after another concrete block. On the left is the beautiful entrance building of the Neromhof. Cycle to the left parallel to the highway until you can turn left into Ossegemstraat. Cross the road to Nieuwenrode and continue cycling on a path between the fields. Cross an asphalt road. You are at junction 36. Cycle into the Grensstraat, direction 37, which you reach at the end at the agglomeration sign of Meise. Turn left, direction 34, through a sparsely built-up area. At the end of the Wandelstraat turn left, on a wide red cycle path. Past the El Paso ranch, a little further right into the Prinsendreef. At the end turn left and follow the Bosstraat to the left. First leave the Zijpstraat on the right and then cross them. On the other side, follow the Nieuwenroodsesteenweg until the roundabout. You are now at junction 34. Turn right into Molenstraat, direction 35. After house 214 turn left into the Driesveldweg. Ignore the road on the left. On the left, behind the fields and meadows, you can see the Castle of the Counts of Humbeek. After the first house, the gravel road turns into asphalt. At the fork, turn right and cycle past the Humbeek agglomeration sign. Cross an intersection and cycle to junction 35. Turn left, direction 32. Before the church of Humbeek turn right and next to café Ons goe thought into Holbroek. Past the cemetery you go back into the fields. The gravel road takes you to the Humbeeksesteenweg, which you follow to the right until the roundabout. Take the Gasthuispachthofstraat on the left. After the Sint-Niklaashoeve (18th century) follow the Heidebaan to the left at the junction. You float along an asphalt road in poor condition, towards the canal. At junction 32, choose direction 33. Along the Senne you reach that at the Burnt Bridge 5. Choose direction 14 here. Cross the bridge, follow the Eppegemsesteenweg and turn right into the Cokeriestraat. At the roundabout go straight ahead and a little further you cycle over a seesaw bridge to junction 14. Cross the road and continue cycling along the Senne, towards 13, with a gigantic Electrabel power plant on the other bank. You keep following the Senne for a long time, with an SME zone on the right. On the Woluwelaan you are at junction 13. Keep following the Senne, direction 18. On the other bank the landscape becomes green again and in the distance you can see the church of Eppegem. Keep following the Senne until junction 18 and the Brusselsesteenweg. Turn right, direction 11. In the bend (be careful when crossing!) take the Elewijtsesteenweg on the left, until junction 11. Here next to a shop with musical instruments into a dirt road, towards 75. Up the Zennedijk and to the right. In the distance you can see the church tower of Weerde above the greenery and in the foreground the ruins of a medieval lock tower 6. Leave the Zennedijk and continue cycling on a concrete road to the bridge over the Senne. Cross it and turn right onto the first street. The Dorpsstraat takes you back to the starting point.
You have now explored part of the Brabant coulters, which extend over the municipalities of Affligem, Asse, Grimbergen, Kapelle-op-denBos, Londerzeel, Machelen, Meise, Merchtem, Opwijk, Vilvoorde and Zemst.
