Along an old railway embankment, one quickly leaves the hectic city traffic behind. Here, one spends time in the heart of the green lung of the Bruges suburban area. Far too early, one already wants to dream on a bench by the pond in the nature reserve Gemene Weidebeek: a low-lying floodplain. Afterwards, one wanders from castle to castle along beautiful avenues through forests and parks. One searches for two 'mountains' in the Bruges surroundings to return along the reed areas and ditches of the Assebroekse Meersen. This is fittingly concluded on a unique hiking trail through the Chartreuse area. A great recommendation to completely unwind after a day in the Bruges city center.
