1. With your back to the church, you go left into Rue Emile Estievenart. Go around the roundabout by bike and take the Way of the Crosses which turns into rue d'Offignies after 200 m. At the crossroads, take rue du Tombois on the right until the end where you turn right into rue Verte. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Blaugies. You pedal through the village basin and on the square with the trees, you turn right into the rue de Bavay. You will pass the Chapel of Our Lady of Tongeren (the pilgrimage town of Tongeren-Notre-Dame is located just south of Ath).
2. A little further you pedal on the right in the rue des Leuses with the water tower. In this way you reach the basin of the village of Erquennes. You keep the church on your right and cross Rue Longue. At the next fork, take rue d'Erquennes on the left. At the junction with the N549 you cross and continue cycling in Rue Roi Albert. At the chapel, turn right into Rue du Chemeneau. At the end turn left towards the church of Fayt le Franc.
3. At the end of this street, take Rue Bracquemart on the left. You follow this by crossing the rue Roi Albert to the dirt road. Where it turns into a paved road, you have crossed the French border unnoticed. At the next intersection, keep right. Cross the busy D24 and follow the road straight to Gussignies. At the town hall, you take the road unpaved, but easily passable on the right. At the next crossroads you keep the right side, you are back in Belgium. On the next T, you pedal left downhill towards the Honelle valley. After cycling across the Honelle at the railway bridge, you have to get right on the pedals to get out of the valley.
4. Once at the top, you continue straight to the village of Roisin, formerly known for its tobacco (Fleur de Roisin). After the village square, you keep the rue Provost on the right and immediately to the right again the rue d'en Haut. Turn left. You follow the road straight north. Along the way, you will see the signs that refer to the Emile Verhaeren Museum. The small museum is less than a kilometre down the road.
5. In Angreneau, continue straight until you reach Villa Les Cerisiers. There you pedal left and immediately right into Rue du Brasserie, passing the abandoned Raimbaix brewery, a fine example of industrial archaeology. Just before the center of Angre, you pedal right into the rue du Chasse. At the end turn left next to the Grande Honelle to the village basin. At the beautiful church (17th-18th century) turn right and follow the signs to Onnezies. After a long uphill road, the rue d'Angre, you reach Onnezies. On the T take the rue des Juifs on the left and at the end the rue d'Abreuvoir on the left. At the fork, which looks like a triangular square, take the path from Montigniez to Onnezies on the right. On the T with the Chaussée Brunehaut you pedal right, direction Bavay, but on the next side street on the left you cross and follow the street to the center of Montignies-sur-Roc. In the center, you pedal between the church and the beautiful village square lined with plane trees on the right, towards Dour. On the right, in the drève du Château, you can go to the Château de la Motte. You continue straight on the path of Wihéries Montignies which becomes halfway the avenue Jules Sartiaux.
6. At the intersection with Rue des Chênes, you pedal straight on the bike path between the backyards. At the intersection with Rue Basse, turn left towards the centre of Wihéries. Follow the signs to Dour via Rue du Quesnoy, and turn left a little further into Avenue Victor Regnart. This will take you back to the Dour roundabout. Follow rue Emile Estievenart straight ahead and you are back at your starting point, the church of Dour.
