Dune runs in De Panne

It is sometimes said that our coastline is one of the ugliest in Europe. The rampant high-rise buildings have almost completely taken over our just over sixty kilometres of coast. Unfortunately at the expense of a piece of valuable nature: the dunes. The exception to this is certainly the West Coast, a coastal strip of about twenty kilometers. In this Belgian-French border area, they have succeeded in saving some beautiful coastal and dune landscapes from the grasping arms of the building promoters. With the nature reserve De Westhoek, the Calmeynbos, the Houtsaegerduinen and the Oosthoekduinen, it has a series of authentic natural landscapes.
