Meeting point in the parking lot (V) by the chapel of the Holy Virgin of Welriekende (1864) at the corner of Welriekendedreef/Kapeldreef in Hoeilaart. Head towards the bike junction 44. Take the first avenue on the left. At a pavilion with a barbecue area, go right along a dog school until you reach the Brussels Ring Road RO. The path narrows now; you pass a Sasje and enter the forest. It continues winding and hilly until another narrow forest path. Follow this Eikendal footpath to the right, along with a GR path. You cross a stream and walk through a Sasje to the intersection with the Mezendreef. Cross this to the left and continue walking, again through a Sasje, over the winding Eikendal footpath, next to a stream. Ignore a path coming from the left and keep going straight. You now walk over the Bunzingen footpath until the small intersection with the Tamboerdreef. Cross this and continue over the Caudaal footpath, still along the winding stream. At the T-junction, where there is an uphill path on the left, you follow the Diependelleweg shortly to the right and then go left over the small bridge. Continue over the Blankedelleweg, a wider path that can also be used by cyclists. At the intersection with Damenrustdreef, go straight ahead. The unpaved path turns into a cobblestone path, and you reach a complex intersection of about six avenues. Here go left through the Sasje and follow the Dennen footpath, again along a stream. At the fork, with a path going up diagonally on the right, you choose left and stay alongside the stream. You cross two bridges and come through a Sasje onto the Diependelleweg. Follow this 10 meters to the right and then continue left over the Dennen footpath. The path becomes narrower and rougher and looks like a hollow way. Another small bridge and with a staircase as the endpoint, you reach Tamboerdreef. Go right here until the intersection with the Graaf van Vlaanderendreef. Follow this narrow asphalt path to the left until you reach the intersection with Welriekendedreef, with a nice picnic area 2. Our tour goes right: either over the wide gravel path or over the narrow footpath to the right of it. Continue until you can turn left into Merelspad. At the fork, keep right. Continue along the path to the left of the wider riding path. Where the path ends, turn right and cross the riding path. Continue over the narrow forest path, which is still called Merelspad. It now continues winding and hilly, and you cross another narrow forest path. About 20 meters further, you turn with the path to the right and go almost parallel to the path you crossed. It gently climbs upwards. Then cross the Molenweg over two Sasje and go down to a four-way intersection: straight ahead to the Terhulpsesteenweg, right into Zoniënwald. So, you go left, briefly parallel to the busy road. At a fork, stay left, away from the hustle and bustle. You now need to climb for a while over a nice forest path. You cross the first small intersection. The second, a bit further, is paved. Here you first realize that you are walking over the Meibloemenpad. Continue straight ahead and again at the next four-way intersection. You pass a sign that prohibits cycling. At the next intersection of narrow forest paths, ignore the gate on the right, which is supposed to deter riders, and continue straight ahead. Cross another path and follow the Meibloemenpad to the end. You come into Damenrustdreef, which you follow briefly to the left until the five-armed intersection. Now follow the paved Welriekendedreef to the right. Here you can also take a narrow path for pedestrians on the left, next to the asphalt. Cross the Eikendal footpath, the Mezendreef, and the Hendrickxdreef and continue until you reach the starting point.
