We start at the parking lot of the church of Stoumont (V). Leave, with your back to the church, on the right. Just before the police station, take the first street on the right behind the church. Always straight to the second lane. Turn left into a cul-de-sac (direction Golf Champêtre). Take a small road to the right towards the Vallée de la Lienne, a steeply sloping hiking trail. Here you can already enjoy a first view. On the paved track on the left, which turns into a hollow road after 200 meters (steep descent). At the rest of the bench, go straight down. You take the first exit on the right before the pines, towards the forest. In the forest, at the Y-junction, you walk left towards the water. Leave the forest and walk to the water. Walk left towards Amblève 1. Cross nature along a narrow path. Follow this adventurous trail along the Amblève for 4 km. During this walk you regularly have to pass in front of fallen trees, sometimes you even have to go into the forest to make a detour. In wet weather, it is best to put on sturdy and waterproof walking shoes. • Continue to follow the path, even when you no longer see the Amblève and it becomes only forest. Leaving the forest, you will see a beautiful arched railway bridge, the Pont de Cheneux 2, under which you walk. At the end of this country road, you turn right onto the concrete track. Follow this concrete track until you notice a bunker 3 in a sharp bend. Next to this bunker, you take the steep road uphill. You pass the church of Cheneux and then take the paved track on the left. When you leave Cheneux (village center sign), take the paved track on the right. You can enjoy beautiful views again, on the right you can even see the church of Stoumont in the distance. • The asphalt track becomes a country road again. At the intersection, continue straight until you reach the bridge, cross them and turn left. Continue straight until you reach the next asphalt track. Take here and immediately again. Along the way, you will come across many poems, written on 4 slate by French-speaking poets. Take the first lane on the left and follow it further through the rolling countryside. Tsplitting on the right. About 400 meters further on, you take the left lane on a large tree with a crucifix and at a prohibition sign. At the next T-junction, take the largest lane on the left and the first lane on the left after house number 14. After house number 20, you take a steep road on the right (over a stone bridge). Warning: it's hard to see! Then at the T-junction on the right, take the GR path. • When you leave the forest, follow the GR path on the left to an asphalt track, then return on the left. At the first sharp bend you plunge into the forest, further on the GR path. Ignore all secondary roads and continue straight until you reach a larger lane. Cross the Targnon bridge on the right, and take the first lane on the right, rue de la Lienne (direction Stoumont Village). After a solid calf bite, you go straight into the cul-de-sac to the end. At the (private) gate take the path that passes by. After a steep climb, you will return to the rest bench where we started. Here you can take a break and then follow the climb further to the big track. At this T-junction, you turn right towards the church to return to the starting point.
