Lark song around Grosage

The small residential area Grosage, along with five other residential areas, belongs to Chièvres, known for the American air base located there. It is located, so to speak, in the shadow of Beloeil Castle, just 2 km away. Of all the splendor that belongs to the castle, there is nothing to notice at the Grosage. Everything revolves around agriculture and the walk takes you through a distinctly agricultural area with beautiful views. In good weather, you will be accompanied on this walk by the song of the omnipresent lark.• The starting point of the walk is the Church of Grosage (V) on St. Christopher's Square. Here you will find space to park the car. You take diagonally in front of the entrance of the church the street between the white farm with the number 1 and the house with the number 20. Soon you reach a barred place name sign of Grosage and cross the stream of Domissart. Just after a large farm, on the left, turn left. It is in front of house number 51 on the right. On the left you have a view of the church of Grosage and the residential area with ribbon buildings. • At the T-junction, at the Second Rue Basse sign, turn right. You pass in front of an imposing guest room where Francine and Jacques welcome you. A little further, at the crossroads just before the next farm, turn left. You cross the Domissart stream again and follow here the only piece of dirt road on the entire route. At the end of this road, turn left towards the impressive farm buildings of the Ferme de la Biderie (1801) (1). • Walking between old and new farm buildings, you reach a paved road. At this place you will also find The Little Bread Museum. Follow the paved road that climbs gently to the right with vast fields and meadows on both sides. On the left, you just notice the cross of a country chapel. • Turn left at the first intersection. A concrete track in the direction of the high-voltage cables. On the left, you have a beautiful view of the Ferme de la Biderie and a little further a 360 ° panorama of the vast surroundings. You ignore the secondary road on the left and continue walking straight. At the end of the road, turn right (2). Those who take the shortening turn left here. • Continue to follow this lane until you reach the T-junction where you look to the right at the church of Neufmaison. Right. After 300 metres, take the exit on the left. On this road you will pass the Calvary Quenesson (3) where you will find a number of didactic panels on the fauna and flora of the region. A little further you pass the nameplate of Neufmaison and turn left (at house number 34). You will continue to follow this route for more than a kilometer. On the right the ribbon buildings of Neufmaison, on the left vast arable land. You pass in front of the Notre Dame de la Paix chapel and the barred sign of Neufmaison. • At the crossroads where the house is located at number 78 (rue Jean Brésart), turn left. In the side façade of the house is a small chapel from 1874. Pass a first intersection to the T-junction with ribbon buildings on the right and two large stables on the left. Turn left again. • After about 500 m, the road makes a right-angled turn. Keep following the road. Turn right at the next T-junction. Hikers who walk in the abridged version join here (4). A little further, at the next fork, turn left. You walk towards the high voltage again. Turn left at the intersection just after the high voltage. After about 200 meters, about 50 meters in front of the high-voltage pylon, turn right. Continue to follow this road until you reach the main track. Turn right here and soon you will arrive at the church of Grosage.
