As the name of the route suggests, you will explore the valley of the Krekebeek. Together with the Handzamevallei, it forms an eastern extension of the IJzer basin. Three geographical regions converge: the polders, the sand region, and the sand-clay region. Your tour begins in Diksmuide, and you will first explore a piece of marshland. From there, you head towards Koekelare, where you ascend the Ruidenberg at the border of the Torhoutser Houtland. In Kortemark, you will again visit the Krekedal.
