Go to the car park (V) along the Kapelleweg, at Sint-Michielskerk 1 from 1838 in Terlanen, the smallest and most rural hamlet of Overijse. In the cemetery, the statue of a Tommy guards fifteen graves of British soldiers (Second World War). At the Great War information panel, take the paved road next to the cemetery wall. At the end is exit 1 of the Zuid Dijleland hiking network. Follow here on the right (until KN 258) Trapkes, one of the slow roads of Overijse. Follow this 50-meter ascending path between a hedge and a meadow and take the block on the left. Follow this path into a residential area and cross the paved road diagonally to the right, still Blok. • In this way you reach the next road, on which you walk on the right. Where the asphalt turns into cobblestones, you can see that it is the Moskensstraat, a hollow paved road (after KN 312) with steep and overgrown sides (Little Switzerland). At the top, take the Bollestraat on the left until you reach the first side street on the left, the Homeweg. Turn here, with a view of beautiful panoramas. This way you pass in front of the De Lasne 2 recovery center. A little further right in the Suzydreef and at the end left in the Monicadreef. Continue straight until the end. There, take the country road on the right and follow the closure of the meadow on the left. This highly overgrown path is clearly rarely used. On the right, you overlook a huge plain with meadows and fields, Terlanenveld 3, known during World War II as Het Kamp, with 72,000 German prisoners of war. The path leads to a narrow agricultural road. Turn left here, descending quietly by a hollow road through the dark greenery of Schaatbroekbos 4, passing well-hidden tulips. Below you pass Borredelle, the Oude Abstraat (with forest information panel) and the Schaatbroekstraat sign on a larger road, the Abtstraat. • Cross carefully and follow the Schaatbroekstraat (no exit), until you reach KN 252, as well as a cycle path and GR dashes. In this way, you find yourself in an idyllic place: the bridge over the alley, with a huge farm and cell towers (VRT and RTBF) in the background. You walk here to the border of Overijse and Wavre, also the language border. Just follow the road, passing the Bilande Farm (5), a huge, beautifully restored square farmhouse (1784), used as a party and meeting center. Past the fence of this vast estate, follow all the arrows to the left, pass in front of a wastewater treatment plant. Where this road turns right, follow a narrow grass path (up to KN 252) straight. After about 500 meters you reach a traffic road, with a cul-de-sac, KN 252 and a funeral home across the street. • Here, on the left (at KN 251) along this winding road and finally, after the Kalooba kindergarten and the nameplate of this Neerpoortenstraat, enter the second street on the right: the dead end Onderbosstraat (at KN 250 and 10 meters further KN 263). This paved road (up to KN 255) takes you from civilization to the barrier of the Rodebos and Laanvallei State Nature Reserve (with information panel). • Follow the sometimes muddy path through these spring forests to KN 255 and walk left through the gate or over the game gate towards KN 256. You also leave the nature reserve by a gate/gate, cross a bridge over the alley and then follow a path (nettles!) between the meadows towards the farms. This brings you to the Leuvensestraat, on the border of Overijse and Huldenberg. Cross for Vossekoten (KN 256) then turn left onto a T on KN 256 to KN 311. • Beyond a few sometimes dilapidated greenhouses - vestiges of the ancient cultivation of vines in this region - the bell tower of the church of Terlanen is visible. Via Vossekoten, you go up to the Bollestraat, which takes you directly to your starting point (with information panels for mountain bikers). The century-old water mill 6 on the Molenstraat, a little further in the center of the village, where you can also make a terrace, is worth a last detour.
