We start at the parking lot of the Maison Communale (V), the 'Ferme Rose'. Turn right onto Avenue du Castillon. Then turn left into Rue de la Drève, cross the Orne and follow the beautiful road 'Excepté vélo'. Ignore a side road on the left and continue on the road that becomes a church road at the end. You will then quickly arrive on a paved road at the church of Notre-Dame Alerne de Chastre and the Place Communale. Turn left and turn along the whitewashed wall. • On the T, turn left onto the Orne. You are now in Berger Mimie Street. Take the first right, Rue par delà l'Eau. The road turns slightly and you now follow the Orne on your right and pass a chapel (on the right). At the next T-junction, turn right into Rue du Piroy and back onto the Orne. A little further, the road climbs a little. At the next T, turn left onto Rue du Centre. You arrive at a Yjunction and follow the direction 'Le Châlet' straight ahead (so NOT Villeroux). The street has since changed its name: Rue Saint-Géry. Pass in front of a hangar (Le Châlet), continue straight, pass in front of the sign indicating the end of the agglomeration of Chastre. On the left there is a farmhouse with a large shed. Always straight on a concrete track through vast fields. Soon, this lane makes a right-angled turn to the left. Ignore a secondary road on the right and continue straight. The road goes up and down. At the T-junction, turn left. You are now in Cortil-Noirmont. At the Y-junction on the left, the road descends. Take the first right, Vieille Rue. You pass in front of a house with a large pond (on the right) and turn, pass in front of a chapel on the right you go back on the Orne. Continue on the paved road. You will now see St. Peter's Church. The road climbs again, past the cemetery wall on your right. This is the rue des Vallées. • At STOP turn right along the N273. Past Pol Demanet Square, Sainte-Adèle Chapel and bus stop. Then turn right onto Rue du Bief. You will soon pass in front of the Moulin de Cortil 1. Turn right and follow the N273. Immediately cross this road and cross the Ernage, a stream. Be careful: on your left is a row of houses, some with parking spaces in front of them. Before the bend, turn left in front of the house with the number 1, on a narrow paved path between the houses just before rue Bouvier: the Venelle du Ry (the sign is at a hedge). The path leads to a square with a basketball court. Continue straight for a moment (left behind the hedge and between the trees the Ernage, ignore a road on the right), then turn right on a playground with sandbox. This is the rue des Charmes. Turn left at the end. Follow the grassy road next to a hedge. • You quickly reach a paved road, here turn left into Rue des Mottes. Then, in an "elbow", you take the path straight to house number 27. You follow this path along a hedge, on a bridge, and then along a meadow with barbed wire and a white wall. You now arrive in a street with the chapel of St. Bridget and a gentleman's farm. Continue straight on Rue des Aviateurs. The road climbs, follow it to the T-junction (ignore a road on the left) then left along the Chemin d'Ernage, a paved road between the fields, and at the T, turn right along the rue du Commandant Chuillet which becomes the rue Gaston Delvaux a little further. Always straight on the narrow path. Ignore a side road on the left, then turn left onto Rue Rauwez 2. • Always go straight, ignore the side streets to the left and right. You will then enter the Rue des Carrières, a cobbled street. On the right in the distance are two Roman burial mounds. Continue through the fields and along the edge of a grove on the cobblestones. At the T-junction, with the chastre agglomeration sign on the left, leave the cobblestones and turn right onto the dirt road through fields. Leaving the field, cross the road and follow Avenue Minerve (not on the far left Rue des Tombes Romaines!). Continue straight ahead and then the second road on the left, in front of the house with the number 18, Avenue Jupiter. Follow this avenue and in the right corner turn to the left, you walk straight on the gravel road to the road, which you still know shortly after the start of this walk. At the wheel, turn right, at the end, turn right again and you reach your starting point.
