Due to a large-scale event (Magic Island) in the Puyenbroeck domain, the blue loop of the Equestrian and Driving Route Wachtebeke will be temporarily inaccessible from August 1 to August 15, 2025.

Also, during the weekend of September 13 and 14, 2025 (Strong Viking), the equestrian route will not be passable.

The Smuggling Route Moerbeke-Wachtebeke starts at B&B De Minnetuin: Langelede 66, 9185 Wachtebeke.

A second starting point is available at the equestrian grounds of the LRV Moerbeke, Achterdreef in 9180 Moerbeke-Waas, from where there is also an access route of 3.4 km.

This route consists of 3 marked loops.

• The shortest loop is 9 km and accessible only to riders.
• The two longer loops of 26 km and 39 km can be ridden by both riders and drivers.
• The loops consist of 74%, 65%, and 60% unpaved paths, respectively.

The 39 km equestrian route also includes a loop with natural obstacles of about 7 km that runs entirely through the provincial domain Puyenbroeck in Wachtebeke.

Since special access rules apply there, we want to inform riders and drivers in advance:

• The provincial domain Puyenbroeck is open year-round from 9 AM to sunset. However, from October to March, the domain is closed on Monday mornings until 1 PM. Except during school holidays in that period, when the domain is accessible on Monday mornings.
• In case of predicted strong wind gusts, the forests (or in exceptional cases the domain itself) will be closed.
• Sometimes the route is not accessible due to an event (e.g., obstacle course, cyclocross, or music festival).
• We advise riders to always check the website www.puyenbroeck.be in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises.
