Camino de Santiago Maillard

Every year, dozens of Compostela devotees pass through Hoegaarden on their way to their final destination in Spain. Exceptional for our municipality is that 2 Camino de Santiago meet here, namely Via Brabantia and Via Monastica.
We have our own loop from Compostela to Hoegaarden.
If you want to join a group on a beautiful day, it is best to start in the morning at the Hoegaarden church, approximately at the crossroads of 2 Via. Individual walkers can leave at their discretion and can choose between the small and large pilgrimage walk. The loop goes from Hoegaarden to Outgaarden via Rommersom, Hauthem, Hoksem, Meldert, Hoegaarden. In total about 22 km. If you can't walk that far, you can jump Hauthem, Hoksem and Meldert and do about 10 km.
All the churches and the many chapels you will come across along the way are protected as monuments. The walks use the Rosdel, the Jordaan and Meneroute, the Ravel as connections between the - Chapel of St. Catherine Hauthem
