During this tour you will cycle past orchards, poplar forests, willow bushes and grasslands. Be sure to stop off at the Crested Salamander hut in Linter, where you'll learn more about this inhabitant of the Great Gete valley.
Meet in Geetbets at the parking lot at the Drinkteilstraat (V), opposite the Spoorwegstraat on KP 356 of Fietsnetwerk Vlaams-Brabant. Start towards KP 49 on a separate cycle path behind a hedge, next to the road road. You cycle parallel to it for a while and then cross this road. From then on you cycle along the narrow cycle path between the fields and past a picnic area with an information board about the Getelinie during WWI. ● Keep following the old railway bed of line 22 past picnic areas and an orchard and on the left a view of the church of Budingen until you reach junction 49 with picnic area. RA towards FP 25. At the obligatory stop RD on the cycle path of the Terweidenstraat, direction Geetbets. ● You cycle along the bike path that is slightly higher than the roadway until your LA can turn into the Halstraat. At the fork immediately after RA. You cross the Roelbeek, cycle past the nameplate of Geetbets and on to KP 25. RD towards FP 24.
Between orchards
----------------------------
You climb gently through a hollow road. At the fork, keep left. On the right it is unpaved. When you come out of the hollow road, you cycle between two orchards to the church of Hogen. RA past free primary school Te Velde Hogen to KP 24. LA towards FP 2. ● You gently climb along a winding road between orchards and a house here and there. At the junction with the triangular chapel LA, on the right it is dead end. After a while you can descend and enjoy a beautiful view. You bolt past the nameplate of Kortenaken and cycle between fields and orchards to KP 2. LA towards FP 3. You cycle along a narrow winding asphalt road between fields and orchards through the gently undulating landscape and are constantly presented with beautiful views. ● At a field chapel RA the Walsbeek over and along an orchard to a T-junction. LA to the intersection with the priority road. RD on a gravel road for walkers, cyclists, riders and agricultural vehicles, which is made car-free by a tractor lock. At the end of the road LA. ● Turn further on with the concrete road to the right and at the next junction LA into the Oudestraat and you will arrive at KP 3. RD towards FP 4. On the right you see the water tower and the church tower of Ransberg.
Welcome to the Great Madness

Meander further between orchards and fields until you arrive at KP 4 just after a modern picnic area. RA into Kapelstraat, direction KP 5. At the end of this street is the 17th-century Chapel of the Redeemer (1) under two horse chestnut trees and a winter lime with picnic area. DRAWER. Descend past neerlinter's nameplate and then turn RA into Bredestraat. Ignore all side roads and enjoy the open field landscape. ● You pass the football fields of Sporting Heide and continue cycling to the intersection with the priority road. On the left is the agglomeration sign of Neerlinter, on the right the nameplate of Stok. RD. The asphalt of the Bredestraat turns into concrete and the road becomes narrower. After a traffic inhibitor you come to FP 5. LA towards KP 58 on a local traffic road consisting of two narrow concrete strips with grass in the middle. ● Here you have an impressive 360° panorama. The road surface turns into asphalt and at the fork you cycle LA, turn right it is unpaved. You bolt past the neerlinter nameplate, keep right at the next fork and turn at the intersection with the right of way LA. You cycle past the church of Neerlinter and after a square turn RA into the Getestraat. Follow it to KP 58 at a former railway building of Neerlinter. LA towards FP 50. It is worthwhile to stop at the Crested Newt hut (2). Welcome to the Great Ge(k)te, it reads. Step inside and enjoy the beautiful explanation and a unique view of the frog pool and the nature reserve behind. The Kamsalamanderpad can of course only be discovered on foot.
Picnic in a bike café

Cross a road with a mandatory stop and continue cycling past the agglomeration sign of Drieslinter until you reach KP 50. Here you can take a break. You have Bicycle Café Chalet and a large playground with picnic area. In the bike café you can eat your own picnic if you have a drink. After the redevelopment of the station square, this point is considered a tourist gate of Linter to explore the region. ● RD towards FP 1. You will pass chip shop De Smid and tavern De Smid and make a right-left nod at the T-junction. You then cycle again over the old railway bed of line 22 and along the end agglomeration sign of Drieslinter to KP 1, at the junction of old railway beds. On the right, the former line 23 runs from Drieslinter to Tongeren. ● RD towards KP 192 and towards Geetbets. It continues between fields and meadows and many Canada poplars. After the nameplate of Zoutleeuw you come to KP 192. RA towards FP 48. You meander past some spacious buildings and then trek over a narrow path next to a canal into the forest.
Into the Milky Way
----------------------------
Cross the Grote Gete and the 's Hertogengracht successively and you will end up in the bend of an asphalt road. LA, past the Gothic Chapel of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows of Forest (16th century)(3). At the fork with the brick chapel at the end of the street LA, turn into the Leeuwerstraat. First you cycle between separate buildings, further on the street is made car-free by a tractor lock. ● Continue cycling along a row of native oaks until your RA can turn into the Milky Way. Follow it to the Vloedgracht. LA on a dirt road through a beautiful landscape to the first bridge. YARD. Continue cycling next to a grove until you reach the Kleine Gete. RA along the river and then across the bridge to KP 48. Across the road there is a modern covered picnic area. ● LA towards KP 31 on the cycle path separated from the roadway by a moat. You pass a robust picnic area with a beautiful stake chapel and the Lindehoeve and turn on KP 31 RA into the Grazenseweg, towards KP 30 and Grazen. Cycle along the cycle path next to the wide concrete road through the open countryside, cross the Graasbeek and cycle past the name sign of Grazen to the center of Grazen, past the church to the T-junction with mandatory stop and a triangular chapel on the other side. RA towards KP 29 and Rummen.
Drive to Rummen

Follow the Verdaelstraat until you can take the road to Rummen on KP 29 LA, direction KP 28. You cycle along the cycle path next to a wide concrete road, past orchards, fields, meadows and farm Betsberg with horse breeding PP Horses. Ignore all side roads and continue cycling until you can enter Rummen on KP 28, LA de Warande, towards KP 27. At the end of the street RA and at the next T-junction LA. You finally cycle back on a narrower road through the greenery and see the church of Rummen on the right. At the intersection with KP 27, LA direction Geetbets and KP 356. You cycle past orchards and meadows and past the 17th-century castle farm (4) of the former castle of Rummen. Cross the Melsterbeek and the Gete and continue cycling until you reach the priority road. LA towards center. After the agglomeration sign of Geetbets you come to KP 356 at the junction at the Station Palace petrol station. YARD. 100 m further you will arrive again at KP 356, which is therefore indicated 2 times and at the starting point.
