Part of the Meuse Cycle Route.
The town of Namur is the gate to the Ardennes and has many facets to offer its visitors. From the citadel overlooking the confluence between the Sambre and the Maas - the masterpiece of Vauban, Louis XIV's great military architect - to its historical heartland, the art of good living is omnipresent here. Appreciate the many terraces along the banks of the Maas that allow you to look out over the Wallonian Parliament - the Elysette. As you leave Namur, you will pass near the remarkably restored site of the Beez windmills.
Just before arriving in the ancient fortified town of Huy, while exploring the RAVeL on the right-hand bank of the Maas, you will find Andenne, home of the Andenne Bears, where the rocks, water and forest still serve as a reminder of the abundance of this region and its natural elements, with the Ceramics Museum and the Collegiate Museum and Treasury.
