Between Evergem-Belzele and Stoktevijver in Zomergem lies the Lieve, as it was originally dug by the people of Ghent. Haantjensbrug: there is a place for lovers and a romantic bridge. Tip: the Akkerhoeve, to take a break by the Lieve (or a bit further at 't Hof van Beke). The Heron Route takes you to the edge of the Lembeek Forest. Enjoy the silence at 'De Bevende Hazelaar' in Waarschoot. Hang your 'love lock' at Beirtjesbrug as a sign of love for the one you like. You will almost always encounter herons here. The Lieve is the supplier of drinking water for the water-saving basin Kluizen.
