This is a walk along works of art in the European Quarter of Brussels. Why? Because buildings alone mean little. Except for this: those officials in there, they determine our lives and we have no control over their choices. They are large, symbol of government as machine.
The IMAGES, on the other hand, that stand between those buildings, all tell what people once thought, dreamed and said. Things we may no longer understand or even accept. But those from every period say something about Europe. It is good to look at those images, to 'listen' to them to understand the underlying message. This way of visiting the European Quarter opens the mind to what is called: 'truth-in-time'. There is no granite truth about Europe. What Schuman thought in the fifties is not what Delors thought in the nineties and is not what is still thought in the 21st century - with Brexit and all.
Artists have had ideas and imagined them. These works of art were recognized and placed by citizens and politicians. And now... we look at it - with different eyes. An interactive experience, quite a challenge!
