Climate walk Green Valley | Silsombos

During this walk you will get acquainted with aspects of climate and climate change in the Green Valley.

Climate change has a major impact on species and populations of plants and animals. Estimating how the consequences of climate change will develop in the near future is a difficult task. With the existing environmental pressures, such as fragmentation and fertilization, we face major challenges when we want to mitigate the loss of natural values.

Species can respond to climate change in different ways. They can move, adapt (genetically or behaviorally) or they can become extinct. Along the way, you'll take a moment to consider some species with a certain climate change indicator value.

Silsombos is a fairly large nature and forest area (between 50 and 100 ha) and is European protected as part of Natura 2000 area 'Valley area between Melsbroek, Kampenhout, Kortenberg and Veltem'.
