Short round Visé (B)

This round trip takes you over new bike paths through a new nature reserve.

This area was created as a conservation measure for the new container transshipment port "Tri-Logiport" on the Albert Canal between Visé and Liège.

You can access this loop from two sides of the Meuse:

On the western side at the Belgian cycling junction (=KP) 414, which is located at the lock on the Meuse south of Lixhe (B.),
or on the eastern side of the Meuse at KP 420, south of Eijsden.

Route description:

1. Go from KP 414 towards KP 415. First, follow the west bank of the Meuse, and after a bridge over a small lock, you will come along the east side of the Albert Canal.
2. Continue following this east bank of the canal (and do not go over the bridge to KP 415).
3. At the end of the water (where a side canal ends), the new bike path begins.
4. Follow this path towards the signs with the two red cherries.
5. After the small inland water “La Gravière Brock,” the new bike path ends.
6. If you then continue to follow the signs with the cherries, you will reach the bike path along the Meuse (west bank).
7. Stay on this towing path heading north until the bridge over the Meuse at Visé.
8. Cross over to the train station in Visé.
Directly across from this station is the well-known “Pam Pam,” a great place for a break (for example, with a delicious ice cream).
9. After that, go down on the left side of the station (towards the E25 motorway).
10. Go under the railway viaduct and continue on the red bike path (behind a thick rock) heading north and return to KP 420 (or KP 414 on the west side of the Meuse).
