Bierbeek - Mollendaelbos circular route 20.2 km.

Departure from the church of Bierbeek counterclockwise, after 2 km we continue clockwise.

The Kalverweg runs along the Mollendaalbeek, then take the second street on the right, turn into Krabbesheide, and follow the Bevekomsestraat on the right until the first left: turn into the Alte Geldenaakse baan. We cross the Nieuwe Geldenaakse baan and follow the second street on the right, the Schoonzichtdreef, through the Mollendaalbos. At the Eleonoradreef we turn left until we reach the Kanseliersdreef. We follow the Dikke Eik dreef and then turn right onto the Walendreef, which we leave at the tree sculptures to follow the Limietendreef to the edge of the forest. There we take a right towards Rue du Stockoy. We reach the chapel of the round oak and stay left until the first left, Ruelle de Tirlemont. The first road on the right then leads us left into Rue du Mollendael, shortly leave to the right and along and through the Peerwald we pass the Peerkapelle and thus reach the Perrestraat, which we follow to the left until we reach Bevekomsestraat, where we turn right and follow Rue de Stoquoi to the first right: the Alte Geldenaaksebaan. Here we cross the language border. We stay until before the Playground road and take a right onto the Eggestraat, a beautiful hollow path until Bevekomsestraat, which we follow to the right until Kerkweg, which brings us left to Kalverweg and thus back to our starting point at the church of Bierbeek.

A great hike with wide forests and beautiful avenues that further emphasize the cathedral effect of these centuries-old beech forests. These alternate with stunning views and gentle landscapes. Even autumn and winter conditions cannot spoil the fun, as long as we adjust our gear and clothing accordingly. Every season has its own charm. Such a rich offer of unpaved paths and a car-free environment is a rare luxury in our Flemish natural landscape. The hike was explored by ten experienced hikers and approved with a high rating.
