A mostly flat cycling route through shady pine forests, purple heathlands, and right through the only national park in our country, the Hoge Kempen National Park. You start in Maasmechelen, where you are immediately guided along winding paths through dense forests, meadows, and gravel lakes. This will lead you to "Fietsen door de Heide" on the Mechelse Heide. We promise you a beautifully expansive heathland and a pedestrian bridge from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the landscape. Not far away you will find the As train station with its old railway line and trains. Along the former coal railway, you leisurely pedal to Maaseik and Dilsen-Stokkem.
