This hiking trail follows the Streek-GR Uilenspiegel

This hike focuses on the provincial domain Het Leen, the Lieve river dug by the people of Ghent, and the mining area of the Priory of Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ten Hove. The extensive forest area of the Het Leen domain is located in both Eeklo and Zomergem and Waarschoot. The domain
offers visitors recreation in the form of fishing, cycling, and especially hiking. This circular trail follows the course of the Uilenspiegel route and is unpaved. After the Het Leen course, the hiker comes to a more open field and then walks along the Lieve for a while. In the middle lies Waarschoot, and afterwards, the route passes by the Rattenkasteel before returning to the area of Eeklo.
