The 'Leiemeersen-Noord' are part of the 'Valley of the Zuidleie' and can be combined with a walk in the 'Warandeputten'. This is not a loop but an out-and-back route along the same unpaved path beside the canal. The canal landscape with its fauna and flora. Parking is possible at the Oostdijk or Westdijk, where the path to the 'Warandeputten' begins. Together, that makes 6 km of hiking. As an addition, you can walk another 500 meters to the impressive lock of Beernem, which extends your hike by 1 km.
