Passendale

Never has World War I claimed more victims than in the three months of the Third Battle of Ypres. Here on the slopes of the ridge that separates the IJzer and the Leie, over half a million soldiers fell, and that for hardly a few kilometers
of territorial gain. Here you will find the largest military cemeteries, including the Tyne Cot Cemetery, which is almost a place of pilgrimage. May this walk in a beautiful, open landscape be a tribute to all the fallen.
DEPARTURE POINT
You can reach the church of Passendale by taking the A19 Kortrijk-Ypres at exit 3-Beselare and follow the N303 to Beselare and further to Roeselare. 8 km after the exit, you will arrive at the market of Passendale.

Dirt and low-traffic asphalt roads; some busier streets.
ACCESSIBILITY
Impossible for strollers and wheelchairs; muddy dirt paths after rain.
