32km Zuidleuven

This route will suit the adventurous long-distance runner, jogger or hiker. 

Starting at the eastern side of the Leuven Ring, the first section leads through a picturesque part of the city. Next up comes an unpaved passage leading through the forest of Heverlee (Heverleebos) and Meerdaal (Meerdaalbos). You'll leave the Meerdaalbos after about 2 kilometers, following an engaging mixture of paved and unpaved roads. The final part of the route goes from Abdij van Park back to the starting point. 

The route has a total elevation gain of 220 meters, which is nicely spread over the 32-kilometer track. However, the section in the forest of Meerdaal has a very engaging part, which will satisfy many trail runners. 

GPS and cell phone connection is spotty in some areas. Always be careful, stay safe and enjoy!
