Ascension

The ascension project connects CC Westrand in Dilbeek and Gaasbeek Castle to a literary art cycle path for four weeks. The occasion is two exhibitions of artists who are inspired by writers. In Gaasbeek Castle there is the exhibition "Authors" by the painter Sam Dillemans and in CC Westrand you can admire "Moments of writing" by Alexandra Cool.

The Ascension is also a literary artistic cycle path along the landscape and art. The poet Ivo van Strijtem selected fragments of world literature. Four art academies in the region were inspired by it and, under the direction of professional artists, created a site-specific work along the route.

Along the way, literary fragments are also cleverly incorporated into the landscape. Texts are also hung on the windows of houses. Ascension brings a fascinating blend of visual art and literature, nature and culture. Let yourself be surprised during this Ascension DAY!
