Description by the author

Not far away and surprisingly beautiful, the Condroz extends over the provinces of Namur and Liège. It is a rolling landscape with vast fields and meadows, castles and square farms, tiny villages with houses made of limestone, and occasionally a small forest. Various local villages such as Deigné, Mozet, and Crupet are included in the list of "Les plus beaux villages de Wallonie."

The hilly Condroz is primarily a fertile agricultural region. As a walker, you rarely, if ever, have to climb a steep slope, yet you are continually rewarded with a panoramic view. From time to time, the white-red marked path leads you through beautiful deciduous forests and sunken roads. A striking feature of the region is the enormous square farms. You will also find castles in all styles and sizes.

The best way to explore the Condroz is via the GR 575 and GR 576.

Since May 2013, there has been a French-language topoguide that combines GR 575 and GR 576, allowing a total of 293 kilometers on the main route. Additionally, four more segments totaling 57 kilometers are described, consisting partly of feeder routes and partly of cross routes that predominantly use old paths. This is ideal for shortening the journey. Smaller loop walks can also be found in the hiking guides Randonnées en Boucle from the provinces of Namur and Liège.

From the starting point Ciney, a large southern arc is followed towards Namur, then stepping towards Remouchamps via Andenne, Huy, and the Ourthe valley. Via Hamoir, a little-known hiking area is explored, with villages such as Vervoz, Bervaux-en-Condroz, and Porcheresse, after which Ciney is sought again.

Other GR paths are not really abundant in this region; besides the GR 577, there are only a few paths near Remouchamps that one can combine with (GR 15GR 57, and GR 571).
