This walk runs along the jewels of Vlezenbeek
The district of Vlezenbeek, which has belonged to Sint-Pieters-Leeuw since 1977, owes its name to a stream of the same name. This stream plays an extremely important role: it has its source, winds through the village basin and divides the merged commune into 2 strike zones: the industrial area and a very rural area. On the northern slope of the valley, an important residential and village centre has traditionally developed around the parish church, which has also undergone remarkable expansion in recent years. Vlezenbeek and Sint-Pieters-Leeuw have a long history. Initially, both municipalities were part of the Leeuwse estate. Subsequently, both sites belonged to the "Land van Gaasbeek". In 1687, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw went his own way and came into the possession of Jean-Charles Roose. Vlezenbeek, on the other hand, remained in Gaasbeek until the end of the Ancien Régime.
