You can leave at the Cultural Centre Abbey Affligem. This abbey is one of the most important landmarks of the region. It is the only Flemish Benedictine abbey that is still inhabited by Benedictines almost 1000 years after its foundation. At the foot of the abbey there are still a few hop fields that bear witness to the rich hop past of the region. The walk also takes you through the Doments Broek nature reserve and past the legendary Hermitage Chapel.
