Kooldries-Hoofsweer is very diverse. You will find open water, scrub, bushes, grassland and a piece of heathland. The old clay pits are an eyewitness to the former brick factories. Today they are filled with water and overgrown with special plants. Birds, dragonflies and amphibians are happy to occupy the old clay pits. And definitely worth a visit! Hikers can discover the area via a number of marked hiking trails. They are adventurous hiking trails whose paths are not paved. It is therefore advisable to put on good walking shoes and boots in bad weather. Buggies and strollers are difficult to handle in the area and are better left at home.
