Residents of Iddergem are nicknamed "Witches". According to local legends, Iddergem has traditionally been the gathering place for witches and enchantresses to celebrate their sabbat.

Iddergem evolved from a typical agricultural village to a residential community, but the rural character has still somewhat been preserved.

2. The Eenemolen, mentioned in documents from 1462, was originally a overshot mill but was converted to an undershot mill during renovations in 1973. In this type of watermill, water strikes the blades at the bottom, causing the wheel to turn backward instead of forward.
