Turnhout has several well-known and lesser-known nature reserves. In the south of the city you will find the nature reserve Winkelsbroek.
This is located on both sides of the valley of the Grote Kaliebeek. You can walk all year round, but after a period with a lot of rain, it is best to provide boots. In the wettest places, bat paths are provided.
Along the way you will pass a bird watching hut. Be sure to take the time to spot special birds here.
If you come by car, you park it behind the church, Glazeniersstraat 1. Walk from the Kapelweg to the right and take the sandy road to Winkelsbroek in the bend. This is where the signposted walk starts.
You will be amazed by the beautiful things that Turnhout has to offer!
