The Groenenberg castle domain is often mentioned in the same breath as Gaasbeek. The two domains are located right next to each other, so you can easily combine a visit. However, Groenenberg is very different from the centuries-old Gaasbeek. The castle was built only at the beginning of the 20th century by architect Evrard on behalf of notary Claes. The park was designed by the famous landscape architect Edmond Galoppin. At that time, he was the park inspector for the municipality of Schaerbeek and designed, among other things, the garden of the Brussels Egmont Palace and the Josaphat Park, where you can find a bronze medallion in his honor.

The 45ha site features many remarkable trees. Some brown beeches are as much as 300 years old. From early spring, it is a display of colors with snowdrops, various kinds of daffodils, and azaleas.

Groenenberg is certainly worth a visit!
