The walk goes through the beautiful nature reserve 'Grote Beek'.

"The Grote Beek flows on the border of the municipalities of Beringen and Oostham on one side, and Leopoldsburg on the other. The nature reserve in which the Grote Beek flows is rich in various plants and animals. Nature's beauty is guaranteed!

Through winding meanders, the Grote Beek flows from east to west, eventually emptying into the Grote Nete via the Laak. In the valley of the Grote Beek, there is still a great wealth of plants and animals. In the source area, there are heathlands with heather and bush heather, and in the driest parts even areas of shifting sand. The middle section is especially characterized by a colorful variety of wet biotopes: ponds, thickets, old alder swamp forests, and flower-rich meadows."
