Discover all benefitsThe Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco is about a monastery in Italy where a treasure of books and wisdom was hidden. The Charterhouse of Herne served a similar function in this region. Did you know that the first Bible translation, from Latin to Dutch (the vernacular), took place here at the Charterhouse of Herne? This walk allows you to discover this place as well as a beautiful part of Pajottenland. The number of unpaved paths is quite limited, but the paved roads are largely car-free.
