The walk starts at sports hall Denderdal. You first walk along several streets, combined with different slow paths, pleasantly heading to the Kluizen forest, with the Kluiskapel as the main attraction.

A few meters away from the chapel, you will find the Kluizeputje. Further on, you pass a play forest and ‘The Observer’, an artwork by Will Beckers, which resembles an eye. From the artwork, you can spy on the birds in the water pool and admire the natural landscape.

A bit further, you walk over an Old Zeeberg bridge, which serves as a gateway for walkers to the beautiful nature area. Finally, you walk through the Gerstjens and along the Osbroek to ultimately continue walking along the Dender back to the starting point.

Directions

At the sports building, halfway down Kortestraat at the zebra crossing, take the path with steps;

• At the end of the path, turn right (Leuvestraat);

• Cross the street at house number 150 and follow the slow path located between house numbers 109 & 111;

• At the end of the path, turn right; cross the Brussels road at the zebra crossing and go right;

• First street on the left (Vosholleweg);

• At the end of the street, turn right (Rietstraat);

• Cross the street and just past house number 59, turn left onto the slow path;

• Keep following it to the T-junction at the end, turn right here to the street (Hageveld); then go right;

• Immediately after house number 23, turn left and walk onto the slow path;

• At the end, turn right (Fonteinbos);

• At the end of the street, go straight and take the first slow path on the left; keep following towards the street.

• Cross the street diagonally to the right and walk into the dead-end path (marked by a traffic sign);

• Take the first path on the left and follow the curve to the right; you will arrive at a play area;

• Keep following the path and walk along the play area.

• Go left past the wooden building and walk between the protected trees towards the water pool. Before the water pool, turn left and follow the path that leads to “The Observer”;

• Continue walking and pass the monument along the path, and once you have passed the water pool, turn left and at the path next to the hedge turn right;

• At the T-junction (where you see the street to the left), turn right;

• On your left, you will pass a small wood;

• At the end of this wood and just before the meadow, turn left until you reach a walking path again; turn left here and follow the path to the Old Zeeberg bridge;

• Cross the bridge and turn right. Follow the emergency path to the street; turn right (Rerum Novarumstraat);

• At the end of the street, turn left (Immerzeeldreef);

• Cross the street at house number 37 and take the slow path;

• At the end of the path, turn left (Kluisdreef);

• At the Brussels road, move slightly left to cross the street safely. Go straight (Louis Camustraat); follow bike junction 38.

• Keep walking straight and take the forest path (follow bike junction 38);

• Continue walking straight until you are almost at the Dender but enter the forest path to the left just before the Dender; [alternatively: if you prefer to walk along the towpath of the Dender, this is also possible, but it might be a bit busier here due to cyclists. Here, follow bike junction 79]

• Follow this forest path straight and at the end, at the junction, follow the curve to the right until you reach the Dender;

• At the Dender, turn left;

• At the Erembodegem bridge, cross the street to continue along the towpath by the Dender (bike junction 79)

• Along the towpath, take the first road to the left after about 550m from the bridge;

• At the end of this road, turn left;

• A bit further, you will reach the sports hall where you started the walk;
