Introduction
Herzele and its districts will truly pamper you. With this walking route, you will stroll along footpaths past a windmill, a chapel, and a castle. We’ll let you discover beautiful spots and enjoy peace and nature.

Directions
We start with our backs to the church in Herzele, cross the zebra crossing, and take the path between the pharmacy and the shoe store. At the end of this path, we turn right to a roundabout where we take the road to the left, then at the next T we turn right and at the following T we turn left (Ressegemstraat). We continue following this until we reach a chapel where we take the dirt road on the right (there's a green arrow). At the next T, we turn left (follow the green arrow again). At the end of this road, which turns into asphalt, we take a left at the T (towards the church), then the first street to the right (Sint-Mauritsplein) until we reach the church where we turn left, then behind the rectory to the right (follow the green arrow again). At the next intersection, cross the road and go straight ahead (house number 5). At the next fork, turn right, and at the end of this path to the left (Paddenhoekstraat). At the end of this street, keep right and go straight (dirt road towards the forest). Stay on this dirt road to the T where we turn right and then after 100 m, left (narrow winding path). At the end of this path (highest point), go straight onto a wide path. At the end of the street, turn right. Always go straight until we see a grassy path to the left towards the forest, take that path. At the edge of the forest, turn left (follow the green arrow again). At the end of the forest, turn right (green arrow). At the asphalt road (house number 52 to the right, then after 200 meters at house number 53, we take the cobbled road to the left. At the T, turn right and after 50 meters take the path to the left. Keep following this until we reach the windmill where we go right in front of the mill (green arrow). Always go straight until the cobblestones of the castle avenue, then left and immediately right, in the next bend between 2 orange posts to the left (green arrow). At the end of this path, first street to the left towards the supermarket, then first street to the right until we reach the church.
