Keerbergen Heritage Walk

The Town Square of Keerbergen is the starting point of the walk. There is parking available for the car. In the Town Square, you will find the old St. Michael’s Tower (tower without a church), a memorial for those who fell in WW I and WW II, the statue of Zandjan, the town hall, and the new modernist St. Michael's Church (without a tower) featuring the restored Vanpeteghem organ. From the Town Square, you walk via Papestraat (with the Old Parsonage at no. 19) to the cemetery, with the entrance marked by the Our Lady of Lourdes chapel.

Via Dijlestraat, Bremstraat, Vossekot, Klimopdreef, you pass the municipal park "t Kasteel" (formerly Hôtel des Lierres) with several monumental trees, the local history museum De Botermolen (Three Sisters Chapel, collection of carts and wagons, the Kruishoeve barn, church treasures, and furniture from the old St. Michael's Church).

Walking along Eeuwfeestlaan *, Nindsebaan, and Raymond Lambertslaan, you pass the former art-deco hotel ‘Le Grand Veneur’. Proceeding along Vlieghavenlaan towards the Royal Atheneum of Keerbergen. In Torteldreef, you walk alongside the nature reserve Pommelsven (heathland reserve). The center of Keerbergen is located in the reserve.

From Torteldreef, Achiel Cleynhenslaan, you walk to the Keerbergse Heimolen. From Molenstraat, Tremelobaan (with St. Michael's Institute Keerbergen-Schriek SMIKS) and Haachtsebaan (GC Den Bussel, protected monument Old Town Hall and former Village School; Devotion Chapel), you return to the Town Square.

* Short route without Grand Veneur: From Eeuwfeestlaan, left into Nindsebaan, cross Tremelobaan, via Berkendreef to Heimolen.
