BUBBLE TOUR Laermans walk Wemmel with shortening

Elaborated on the walking network Brabantse kouters. This walk was originally described and signposted by Pasar Wemmel. We also present you a slightly shorter version of 8 km. ATTENTION because you will then walk from KP 53 to KP 55.

With departure at the town hall, a listed castle from 1649, this walk takes you after a while of looking at villas including the devil barn, the water mill of Amelgem and the Beverbos nature reserve.

The walk was named after the painter Eugène Laermans (1864-1940). Between the old rectory and the church is a white painted wall that was named after the painter. During a short stay as a student in Wemmel, he had seen a drowning person at this place. Seized by this, he had later depicted this wall in his paintings.

Buggies can join the short walk but will need help on some stretches.
