We depart from the Abbey of Affligem for a walk with bridges and boardwalks through the Koudenbergbeek valley, a municipal nature development area where nature is given every opportunity. Thanks to the varied substrate – dry and wet, and clay - you will find very rare nature in a historically special place. The name 'Roofridderswandeling' refers to the legend of the foundation of the Saint Peter and Paul Abbey of Affligem. The story goes that the monk Wedericus from the Ghent Saint Peter's Abbey converted six robbers who settled in Affligem in 1062.
