Tervuren Feed and Park Promenade (RCOZ)

Theme: Walk to the source of the Voer in the Arboretum and return through the park of Tervuren. Duration: +/- Two and a half hours.

Start/finish: Markt, 3080 Tervuren

Parking: On or around the Markt but also at the corner of the Kastanjedreef and the Keizerinnedreef where a beautiful new car park has recently been built (200 meters from the Markt).

This is a walk designed or adapted by the Rotary Club Overijse-Zoniën (RCOZ) as part of the action "Walking and cycling for more greenery and nature in the Druivenstreek". This promotion runs from 21 March 2021 to 5 June 2021 (World Environment Day). The aim of the action is above all to reflect on the importance of greenery and nature in the Druivenstreek and to raise awareness about it. Specifically, RCOZ wants to use this campaign to raise funds for other sustainable trees in the Druivenstreek. Information about the action and participation in the walks can be http://www.rcoz.be. This walk starts from the Markt in the centre of Tervuren and then follows via a beautiful path along the Voer to its source in the Arboretum (Sonian Forest). We continue walking in the eastern part of the Arboretum to return to Tervuren via the beautiful Wolvenweg to the ponds along Robiano Castle. After crossing the Duisburgsesteenweg, we arrive in the park of Tervuren where we continue towards Grote Vaartvijver and return by the Spanish house, the Spiegelvijver, Dreef and Gordaalvijver in the center of Tervuren. The walk is about 9.5 kilometers but with little difference in altitude. Count on two and a half hours at a leisurely walking pace and with breaks to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Shorter route. You can also do the walk in two stages. For example, the part at the sources of the Voer and the Arboretum. You then return by the same path once you reach the Robiano Castle. And another time you can do the park of Tervuren. You just start the walk but at Robiano Castle instead of taking the Voerpad, you turn left and continue the road. The shortest routes are +/- 4 km.

On the Markt in Tervuren you will find cafes and an ice cream parlour to relax from your walk.
