Beautiful Belgian Walk: 150km starting from Saint-Hubert (part 1)

To vary the pleasures, the BBB alternates the destinations, sometimes more distant, sometimes closer, as is the case this June, with a unique "Ardennes butterfly" rich in beautiful winding roads, often in good condition. Are things changing in our good old Wallonia?

For this relatively close outing, we chose the "base camp" formula, which has several advantages, including the ability to be joined at midday by family members or non-motorcycling friends, or the option to ride "light," leaving your belongings at the hotel if you choose to spend the night on-site. And since it’s important to vary sources of inspiration to avoid repetition in route choices, we entrusted the initial layout of the two loops we present to you today to Mathieu, the photographer of this BBB, allowing for adjustments according to the BBB's requirements.

A true Ardennes native and passionately attached to his beloved town of Saint-Hubert, the man proposed an original scenario that initially surprised us somewhat, featuring quite a few national roads, whereas we usually seek smaller routes. To put it another way, we feared a route that might be too smooth to be truly enjoyable. However, after reconnaissance, we must admit that our fears were unfounded, and throughout a journey combining a few well-known classics with lesser-known segments, we had a wonderful day of riding, topped off with a lunch that will remain in our memories.
