From the twelfth century, the villages of Neder-Heembeek and Over-Heembeek were oriented towards agriculture. One hundred years later, the City of Brussels annexed the two entities united under the name of Neder-Over-Heembeek. Despite the major projects that Brussels had planned for this area, the village continued to live.
This bike route takes you to a village destined to become an urban area, to discover its great infrastructures, its small stories and its surprising green spaces.
