The 60KM over the Brabantse Kouters is a permanent route and is a realization of the Regional Landscape Brabantse Kouters vzw and Nature Walkers vzw. With the support of Tourism Flemish Brabant, the province of Flemish Brabant, Natuurpunt Noordwest-Brabant vzw, RouteYou, and De Wandelkrant.
The 60KM originated from the idea that people traditionally went on pilgrimage from Merchtem to Scherpenheuvel. And that was 60 km. Therefore, the idea grew to establish a 60 km route in this beautiful region as well. If that distance is a bit too much for you, you can also choose the 2 * 30 km option.
