Boots-don't-forget by Lovenhoek (Pulle-Zandhoven-Vorselaar)

Between Pulle and Vorselaar in the Antwerp Kempen lies the forgotten nature reserve Lovenhoek. Once, there were seventeen farms and a café here; now it is a diverse and surprising piece of nature managed by Natuurpunt. In 2017, the Nature Path won the 'walk of the year' award in the province of Antwerp.

In fragmented Flanders, Lovenhoek forms a valuable chunk of interconnected and highly varied nature. Natuurpunt purchased the core of the area in 2007 with the support of the municipality of Vorselaar. In recent years, thanks to the acquisition of parts of the adjacent Krabbels domain, it has grown to more than 200 hectares. Natuurpunt has worked hard, with support from the Flemish and European governments and the efforts of dozens of volunteers, on restoring valuable habitats and on opening the area for hikers and riders.

The circular walk in the Lovenhoek nature reserve follows the designated NATURE PATH from Natuurpunt. The starting point here is the western starting area (Kleinheide 84 a, Zandhoven), but you can also start from the east (Pallaaraard, Vorselaar). The area was very marshy - read: underwater - during the exploration. So, don't forget your BOOTS.
