The Heideroute is a real classic! The setting of the very first signposted themed route (1975) is understandably very popular. The star of the show is the Kalmthout Heath with its golden dunes, tranquil ponds, and wonderfully scented pine forests. But from the Klot lookout tower in the De Maatjes nature reserve, you can also enjoy a splendid panorama. Along the way, you will encounter plenty of places to eat and drink as well as a few museums (Bee Culture Museum, Cart Museum, and Robotland).
In total, the Heideroute offers 57km of cycling pleasure, but shortcuts are possible. Ask for the free brochure at our tourist office.
