Gooik, a municipality with more than 9,000 inhabitants that refers to itself as 'the pearl of Pajottenland'. The Pajot municipalities of Gooik, Kester, Leerbeek, and Oetingen were merged into a merger municipality in 1977, like many other municipalities. In this case, Gooik.
Our goal for the walk: Searching for pearls in Pajottenland? And climbing the highest 'mountain' of Pajottenland, the Kesterberg with its 'Iron Man'.
