Discovering water in all its forms ... in the southern part of Brussels

Traverse the Brussels region and discover water in all its forms.

Also discover the actors and operators in the water sector, through some projects for which they are responsible and some ongoing projects for the enhancement of this resource in the city.

This cycling route takes you through various parks in the southern part of Brussels and along ponds, streams, and lakes via different sections of the Green Walk.

You will discover, among other things, the Mellaerts Ponds in Woluwe Park, the Massart botanical garden and its recently renovated pond that houses a rich and varied flora and fauna in the Natura 2000 area of the Red Monastery, and the Woluwe, which flows both in open air and under sluices, crossing the Ten Reuken Pond, among others. You ride through Ter Kamerenbos, an area conducive to relaxation but also a catchment area for a very small part of our drinking water.

You can also enjoy the Geleytsbeek, which was recently opened up and thus helps to combat flooding, and take a short trip in the Kinsendael nature reserve.

Finally, you will pass various places where you can learn more about storm basins and river thermal energy.
