BRAKEL HIKING ROUTE
Another hike with a viewpoint can be found in Brakel. You need to conquer exactly 162 steps, but as soon as you stand on the viewing platform of Brakel, the view is breathtaking.
VIEWING TOWER OF BRAKEL: 30 METERS HIGH
The steel giant is 30 meters high and was built on a 103-meter high plateau. Therefore, you are standing 133 meters above sea level and can see the Zwalm Valley, the East Flemish witness hills, the KBC Tower in Ghent, and even the cooling towers of the nuclear power plant in Doel in the distance.
To help you with orientation, various signs clearly indicate which municipality or place the forests, church towers, and masts belong to. Even Paris and Berlin are marked, but to see these cities, this tower is still a bit too small.
